From vehicle counts
and speed measurement to flow control and journey time
measurement, a CRS surveillance system can be used to
improve traffic management.
TAS - Traffic Analysis
System
TAS is a multi-camera system for wide-area, multi-lane
surveillance. It can be used to detect incidents, count
and classify vehicles, measure speed, calculate traffic
flow parameters, detect congestion and track and analyse
vehicle behaviour.
JTMS - Journey Time
Management System
JTMS reads vehicle license plates at several Outstations
along a route and sends the data to a central installation
where it is used to calculate journey times. The number
of camera sites can range from 2 to over 2,000.
Winchester City Council uses JTMS to
measure journey times.
